SMITH
Glenn W. Smith, 91, of Grove City, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2009. Glenn was born to the late Frank and Emma Smith on March 14, 1917 in Grove City, Ohio. In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Martha, who passed away in 2001; half sister, Elta Koehler; and half brothers, Howard and Raymond Smith. Glenn is survived by his sons, Donald (Nancy) Smith, and Steven (Sandy) Smith; grandchildren, Emily Smith, and Matthew (Michelle) Smith; great grandson, Charlie; brother, Edwin (Donna) Smith; special friends, Rita Foest and Bob Cryder; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Glenn served in the U.S. Army during WWII on the Pacific Front and retired from Jeffrey Manufacturing after 40 years of service. He was a member of the Grove City Senior Citizens Group where he attended regularly. Most importantly he was a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Grove City were he served as Sunday School Superintendent, an elder, and Clerk of Session for many years. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 4, 2009 from 2:00PM-4:00PM and 6:00PM-8:00PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2009 at 11:00AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Grove City, 4227 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. Rev. Robert Tolar officiating. Interment will follow at Grove City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Grove City.
