Glenn W. "Bill" Thrush born Oct. 10, 1932 passed peacefully on Dec. 16, 2010. Visitation to be Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011 from 1 - 3 pm with memorial service to follow at 3:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. If desired, contributions may be made to the West High Alumni Assoc. Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 28056 Columbus, Oh. 43228. Contributions made in memory of Bill will benefit a student athlete.

Glenn William (Bill) Thrush passed peacefully on December 16th in New Albany, Indiana. Bill resided in Phoenix, Arizona for
38 years before relocating to New Albany in 2009. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on October 10,1932 to the late Marian Barnes Thrush and Glenn William Thrush Sr.
Bill was preceded in death by his son, Clinton W. Thrush, and brother, Jack Thrush. Bill graduated from West High School in 1950 where he was an outstanding athlete in baseball, basketball and football. He was chosen for the "All City Basketball Team" and his photograph is still displayed in the West High sports
"Hall of Fame." He was attending Ohio State University when he enlisted in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
He served in Korea as a radio operator on air/sea rescue missions in the combat zone.
He began his career with the Columbus Dispatch newspaper and retired from the Arizona Republic newspaper. In 2005 Bill became a published poet and in 2007 his book, "Inspired Poems" was published.
Bill is survived by his wife, Susan Thrush, daughters, Ginger A Thrush and Lora L. (David) Yank, stepson Cameron (Linda) Grubert and stepdaughter Christa N. (Jeremy) Conrad; grandchildren: Anna Mae Yank, Joshua Mahan, Jamie, Ashley and Trey Grubert, Landon Conrad and one great granddaughter, Rhesa Renee Yank. Bill will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched. A memorial service/celebration of life will be held at Culbertson Baptist Church where he was a member in New Albany, on January 8, 2011 at 11am.
