Gloria Jane Veeck, 83, of Columbus, passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at the Columbus Alzheimer Care Center. She was born June 10, 1924, in Salem, OH., daughter of the late Maurice and Violet Mae Tinsman Ellsworth. In addition to her parents, Gloria is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Robert Veeck; sister, Nancy Jones and infant brother, Alfie Ellsworth. She was a 1942 graduate of Canton McKinley High School and also a graduate of the Aultman Hospital School of Nursing. In addition to this, Gloria was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Throughout her career she was involved in several aspects of nursing including, surgery, teaching and over 45 years in labor and delivery. Gloria is survived by her daughter, Nancy Veeck; sons, James (Joanne) Veeck, John (Kathy) Veeck and William (Lynn) Veeck; brother, Ed (Marion) Ellsworth; grandchildren, Bobby, Jennifer, Justin, Brian, Christopher, George and Rachele. Visitation will be Sunday, August 12, 2007 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home N.E. Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus. Funeral service will be Monday, August 13, 2007 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home, with Dr. Rev. Richard Ellsworth, officiating. Interment will be in Blendon Central Cemetery.
