Gregory Edwards

Gregory Edwards, age 65, passed away peacefully at home on July 11, 2021. Preceded in death by father, Otto Edwards Sr, mother, Mary Locke, grandmother Carrie Porter, sister Joyce Mayne & daughter Dionna Renee; Survived by his wife of 36 years, JILL (Shorty), Brother, Otto Edwards, Sisters, Shirley (Rob) Cason, Kathleen (Thomas) Crawford and Aletha Mangum; his sons, Donavin (Amika) Edwards and Jason (Lynn) Larsen, his daughters, Javonnah Edwards, Michelle Larsen and Tanya Johnson; Grandchildren Dane, Dionna,Donica, Donyelle, Dawn, Jazeonia, Jaseana & Marquese, loving nieces & nephews,in-laws, relatives & a host of longtime friends.

Greg was a graduate of CSCC with a degree in Law Enforcement and retired Case manager for the Ohio Department of Corrections. He was a home body who loved his family. Strangers were just friends he hadn't made yet. He was a Connoisseur of all things Polo & Jordan, a clothes horse, a master of The Deal, whether at TJMaxx or the local flea market where he could talk anyone out of anything. His passion became buying bicycles to refurbish until the garage was no longer an option for automobiles. Fall brought Scarlet & Gray Saturdays and Orange & Brown Sundays as he assumed his position as the diehard armchair quarterback for the Cleveland Browns. He loved his Lakers & then, his UFC fights but no one battled harder than he did, just to live another day. After a 14 year battle with lung cancer & COPD, his body gave out though his will never did.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 19, 2021, from 12:00-2:00 p.m, at the Newcomer Southwest Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, 43123, with a 2:00 p.m. service to follow.
