Amy Haram Park, 10 years old and a fifth grader at the Plains Intermediate School in Athens, Ohio, passed away at her home on Saturday October 5, 2024. Amy had valiantly fought a brain tumor for 8 months when the Lord saw fit to call her home.
Amy was born in Seoul, South Korea and moved to New York State when she was 18 months old in order for her parents to complete their degrees in social work. In 2020, she moved to Athens, Ohio as her dad started a job with Ohio University's Social Work Department. Amy was a sweet-natured, joy-filled, fun-loving little gal. Although her life was short on Earth, she had a full life with Jesus. She was the type of child who brought so much joy to anyone who was around her. One of her friends shared that "Amy always knew what to say at the right time". During her difficult radiation treatments she told her parents, "Sometimes it is hard to understand God's ways and plans but we just trust and obey God."
Amy is survived by her loving parents Daejun Park and Sejung Yang, her brothers Aiden and Andrew Park, and her grandparents Seok-Soon Park and Dong-Chun Jeong of South Korea and Seung-Il Yang and Chi-Suk Shim of South Korea.
