Harold E. "Hop" Hagemann, 76, of Columbus, passed away peacefully at his home Sunday, May 3, 2009. Born to the late Harry and Edna (Culp) Hagemann Sr; on November 9, 1932, in Columbus, OH, "Hop" is survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Virginia (Leonard) Hagemann; sons, Terry, (Annette), Bob (Rachel), Larry (Kathy) and Trace Hagemann; brother, Harry (Joan) Hagemann Jr; 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, special family friend Joe Simms and loving canine companion "Lady". "Hop" spent many years in the trucking industry and retired from Applied Distribution. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2009, 6-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH 43231. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Hop's memory may be made to The Mount Carmel Hospice, C/O Mount Carmel Foundation, 793 West State Street, Columbus, OH 43222-9988. The family would like to give a special thank you to the Hospice team of Leah, Charlie and Nellie.
