Harold "Pops" H. Kemper, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on February 26, 2025, at 4:20 pm. Born on April 18, 1962, in Columbus, Ohio, Pops lived a life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
With a bear of a personality, he embraced all those around him with warmth and strength. Those who knew him would speak of his loyal and strong-minded nature, as well as the immense love he had for his family. He dedicated his life to ensuring the happiness and well-being of his children and grandchildren, often reminding them how much they meant to him.
Pops was an avid outdoor enthusiast who found joy in hunting and spending time in nature. He was a true master at grilling and delightful smoking, often preparing meals for family gatherings that brought everyone together. His patriotic spirit shone brightly, reflecting his strong sense of pride in his country. A gifted custom welder, Pops harnessed his creativity and skill in wood-working, crafting various pieces that epitomized his craftsmanship. Notably, he cherished his Buckeye man-cave, a testament to his love for OSU football and The Cincinnati Bengals.
Pops will forever be remembered for his cherished relationship with his special dog, Roxy, who was one of his constant companions, always by his side.
He leaves behind his loving daughter, Michelle (David) Graham; his sister, Melinda (Lonny) Burgan; his grandchildren, Aria, Parker, Ryan, Jeremy, Matthew; and his great-granddaughter, Shanaya. He also leaves behind his nephew, Micah (Ollie). He was preceded in death by his father, Jerald H. Kemper; his mother, Glenna J. Conkel; his son, Zane Kemper; and his sister, Cheryl Kemper.
Pops was proud to be a cancer survivor, a testament to his resilience and strength. His legacy of love, humor, and unwavering support will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, we are grateful for the time shared, the lessons learned, and the love that will always remain in our lives.
