Harold (Dick) Richard Sunderland, 83, of Orient, Ohio, went to be with his Lord and Savior, on Sunday, May, 15, 2022.
Dick, was born in Columbus, Ohio, June 2, 1938. Dick, is preceded by his late parents, Leona Leroy and John Erwin Sunderland. Dick is preceded by his late furbaby, Scruffy. Dick, is also preceded in death by his brothers: John (Zenas) Sunderland, Erwin Sunderland, Raymond Sunderland; and his sisters: Margaret Eisnicher, Leona Flynn, Mary Mcgath, and, Ruth Croxton. Dick, was the youngest of their eight children. Which consisted of four girls and four boys. Dick is survived by his beloved, and very devoted wife, Judith Sunderland of 27 years. In all, they spent 37 years loving each other on this side of heaven. Dick, is also survived by his children, Chris Sunderland, Denise Nauta, Joe Sunderland, Todd Williams, and, Wendy Williams. Grandchildren, Alicea McLain, Rich Nauta, Wesley Nauta, Becky Nauta, Samantha Sunderland, Madison Sunderland, four great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends. Dick, is also survived by his little new buddy, he came to enjoy, Rickie May.
Dick, was a devoted loving husband, father, brother, friend, and even a caregiver to many. Dick was a giver, and loved to buy a meal, for family and friends. Dick, loved hearing about Jesus, and was humble about accepting Jesus into his heart. Dick, loved to enjoy, and have someone pray with him. Dick, was exceptionally devoted to his girls Judy and Wendy! Dick, loved Christmas. Stopping by Bubba's Corner Carry-Out. Carrying on conversations with just about anyone. Dick loved to find a bargain at the thrift-stores. Dick, also loved his new fur baby Jacks, and was noted to say, "I love that pug!" Dick enjoyed cowboy movies, and had a contagious smile. He loved to wear his suspenders with his Jean's. Crack a joke with you, and always knew exactly what he wanted. He loved to travel and dance. Family and friends called him, "One of a Kind!"
Dick, worked in the trucking business for over 56 years, retiring from ABF, Arkansas Best Freight System, Inc. Harold, (Dick) Richard Sunderland, served in the Military, for the Army of the United States. Dick was also an attendee of, Kingdom Life Ohio Church with his wife, Judy and Wendy.
The family would like to extend a special Thankyou, to the Hospice Team; whom provided excellent care for Dick. Especially, Pam, Gracie, Sarah, Melissa, Wayne, Erica, and, Lindsey. A special, thankyou to, Dr. John Horn, Mount Carmel, Grove City Family Medical Group, for his wonderful medical care over the years. Dick was his second patient ever to be served by him. Also, thank you, to Newcomer Funeral Chapel, in Grove City for the assistance in Dick's arrangements.
A very special, and loving, thank you from the family: For Pastor, Counselor, Nurse. Teacher, Friend, Sister, and trusted adopted family, member now, Kelly Hott for her devoted and loving care she gave to Dick. She never left his side, and gave him excellent care. Dick, called her his, "Special Angel," that he asked from God to give him.
A Celebration of Life, Homecoming Service will be held for Harold (Dick) Richard Sunderland at Kingdom Life Ohio Church with Cornerstone Church and Family, assisting beginning at 1 p.m.
Family and Friends may begin arriving at 11 a.m. Two hours prior to service. Parking in front and back of church.
Pastor Kelly Hott, will be officiating.
