MILLS
Harry A. Mills, 81, of Columbus, OH passed away at home on June 6, 2010. Born October 7, 1928 in Greendale, OH to the late Harry C. and Mae E. (Skiver) Mills. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Genevieve Lehman, Ruth Horn, Violet Williams and Sue Bond and two brothers, Raymond and Jack Mills. He graduated from Logan High School in 1946 and then joined the U.S. Navy. After discharge from the service he attended Capitol School of Cosmetology of Columbus, later becoming an instructor. There he met and married his wife of 59 years, Alice (Gordon) Mills, of Glenford, OH. He also studied in New York City at The Chanel Styling School. Later, he became owner and operator of Mills Beauty Salon for 27 years. From there, he taught for Columbus Public Schools at Northeast Career Center for 17 years. He was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Columbus, he was an avid gardener and traveled all over the world with his wife. He is survived by his wife, Alice; children, Liza (Jack) Farnlacher, Grant (Sharon) Mills and Alice A. (David) Knight; grandchildren, Cliffton A. and Jeanne Mills; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Visitation Wednesday, June 9, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd., Columbus, OH. Funeral Service Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 11 AM with visitation a half hour prior at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1479 Morse Rd., Columbus, OH 43229. Interment following at 2:30 PM at St. Paul's Reformed Lutheran Cemetery, Glenford, OH.
