Harry David "H.D." Patton, 61, Columbus, passed away Sunday February 13, 2011, surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with cancer. Harry is preceded in death by his father and mother, Dallas and Katherine (Ramey) Patton. Survived by his son, David (Brenda) Patton of Gahanna, Ohio; grandchildren, Amanda and Josh Patton; brothers, H. Thomas Patton of Fillmore, California and Danny (Theresa) Patton of Columbus, Ohio; sisters, Gloria Preece of Lakeview, Ohio and Sharon Brown of Columbus, Ohio; aunts, Violet Hager, Hildreth (Hezekiah) Curtsinger and Laura Lewis; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was a member of VFW Post 1598, AmVets Post 89, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2252 and American Legion Post 465. Harry was a lifelong friend to all who met him and will be missed by everyone. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2011, 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the Funeral Service on Thursday, February 17, 2011, 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HomeReach Hospice, 3595 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, OH 43214.
