Harry Bowen Hopwood, 83, of Grove City (Columbus), passed away at Monterey Care Center March 7, 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents Harry L. and Minerva, his wife of 45 years, Margaret Ann. He is survived by his sister, Hope Axline (Daniel), daughters Karen Kennedy (Steve), Tamara, and son Harry Fergus (Marty) of NV, stepchildren, Ronald Klein (Brenda), Linda Klein, Vaughn Klein (Helen), numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He served in the US Marines (Marshall Islands) and the US Navy (Korean Conflict). He played sports all his life, held the Columbus High School Football punting record for years, coached for the Westgate Football league and won an Olympic gold medal in the Senior Olympics in 1992 at the age of 68 in basketball.
