Harry "Gamble" Porter, 88, of Columbus, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2007, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born April 13, 1918, in Stephens, KY, son of the late George and Pearl Oakley Porter. In addition to his parents, Gamble is preceded in death by a son, Mike Porter and brother, Mitch Porter. He was retired from North American Rockwell and The Ohio State University, and was a 64 year member of the Willard Kentucky Masonic Lodge #626. Gamble is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gayle Keaton Porter; son, Joe (Vickie) Porter; daughter, Lisa (Mike) Frabott; grandchildren, Amber, Michael, Leslie Porter, and Bryan and Kyle Frabott; sister-in-law, Bettie Porter; and a special thanks to Jim and Jeanne Doyle, Phil McGlaughlin and Jana Willis. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 6, 2007 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home N.E. Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus. Funeral service will be Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Northlawn Memory Gardens.
