STANLEY
Harry James Stanley, 84 years old, passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at his residence in Lexington, former longtime resident of Columbus. Harry worked for his father as a truck driver for the General Store. He then served our country in the US Navy during WWII. After his tour of duty for the military he worked as a coal miner in West Virginia for twelve years. Then he and his family moved to the Columbus area, where he served as a corrections officer for the city, till he retired in the early 1970's.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, T.C. and Minnie (Sayers) Stanley, and one sister, Delrhea Grose. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Sally (Murphy) Stanley, loving daughters: Barbara (George) Isaman, Bonnie (John) Burgett, and Ethel (Jack) Parrett, one son, James Stanley, two sisters: Hope Brown and Ethel Mae (Kenneth) Stollings, six grandchildren: David, Julie, and Mark (Tanya) Isaman, Marla (Terry) Stevens, and Tina McWhorter, Brian (Lisa) Parrett, eight great grandchildren: Krista and Chance Isaman, Abby Stevens, Jenna Parrett, Kyle Liming, Christian Parrett, Taylor Collins and Isaac Isaman, and one great great granddaughter, Stacy Liming.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 5, 2010 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Funeral service on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at 11:00 AM,all at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City.
Interment immediately following service in Grove City Cemetery.
