Hattie V. Painter, 102, went peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, October 23, 2022 in Columbus, Ohio.
Hattie was born on January 22, 1920 in Dover, Kentucky to the late William and Ida Hord-Rosser. She grew up in Washington, KY, and graduated from Maysville Fee High School. Shortly after graduation, Hattie met her handsome, soon-to-be husband, Earl Painter. The two were married for 55 years and were the blessed parents of two daughters, Marilyn and Virginia.
Hattie is preceded in death by husband, Earl Painter; sisters, Emma Porter, Ann Ray; brothers, William Rosser, Harry Rosser, Jerry Rosser, Eugene Rosser, Walter Rosser, Gordon Rosser, Todd Rosser and James Rosser.
Hattie leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Marilyn Crowell and Virginia Scott (Neil); grandchildren, Michael Crowell, Gayle Cozzens (Curtis), Jeanneene Crowell, Boyd Scott (Cynthia), Duane Scott (Michelle), Aaron Scott (Kerry); 14 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren; brother, Harold Rosser (Carolyn); sister-in-law, Ollie Painter, special friend, Kathy Burkman and a host of additional family and friends.
Hattie was a member of the Hilltop United Methodist Church, Columbus, Ohio for over 50 years, where she was involved in many auxiliaries, including the Esther Circle and she also served as the church Treasurer for many years. Hattie had an affinity for numbers, along with an amazing memory!
Family will receive friends on Thursday, October 27, 2022 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Columbus Northeast Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio 43231 with the funeral service immediately following at 1:00 pm.
