Hazel Marie Kiner
August 11, 1930 — October 28, 2023
Mrs. Hazel Marie (Sparks) Kiner – Age 93, of Grove City, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her home, Saturday morning, October 28, 2023. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, neighbor and friend to many. Preceded in death by her parents, James Logan and Mary Ida Sparks, two brothers -Emerson Sparks, and William Sparks, four sisters – Vivian King, Garnet Davis, Kathleen Nimmo, and Norma Davis, husband – Dr. David L. Kiner, and daughter – Kathi Hughey.
She is survived by one remaining sister - Aretta Estep; sons – David Kiner (Jeri), Mark Kiner (Darlene), and Jonathan Kiner (Donna), daughter – Mary Beth Beatty (Brad); also many, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, a host of devoted nieces, nephews, spouses, and friends, which are too many to mention by name.
She was a member of the Turnpoint Apostolic Church in Groveport, Ohio.
She lived a quiet and simple life after the passing of her husband in the spring of 2000. In the 23 remaining years of her life, following his death, her love for God, her five children, the church, world missions, orphanages, Christian TV, and others in need, occupied her compassionate heart, and kept her pocketbook nearly empty most of the time. She was a generous and cheerful giver. She was also an avid reader, loved cheerful company and good conversation, and was a great listener. She will be sorely missed by her children, extended family, and all those who dropped by the house frequently to chat awhile.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Pastor Joseph Arata, and the Turnpoint Apostolic Church, for giving of their time and amenities to our very grateful family for the purpose of celebrating our mother's home-going. You have honored her today in a very special and fitting way. And, to all of you who have set aside this time and day, and have traveled near and far, to gather with our family to honor our sweet and precious mother, thank you.
Viewing, and funeral service will be held at the Turnpoint Apostolic Church, 7718 Groveport Rd, Groveport, Ohio 43125, on Saturday, November 4, 2023. Viewing from 11:00AM – 1:00PM, and Service beginning at 1:00 PM. Officiating, Senior Pastor, Joseph Arata.
Internment at Concord Cemetery, 6244 Hoover Road, Grove City, OH 43123, following the service.
