Helen M. Smalley, 86, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2006, at the Manor Care of Westerville. Born on July 6, 1920, to the late Oakley Ross and Beulah (Clement) Lamb in Fowler, CO., Helen is preceded in death by 3 sisters, 1 brother, and a grandson, Justin Prawlocki. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Purl "Pete" Smalley; daughters, Lenore (Jose) Chavez and Rebecca (John) Prawlocki; grandchildren, Gregory (Lisa) Chavez, Marcus Chavez, Adam and Adrien Prawlocki; great-grandchildren, Sophia and Juliana Chavez. Helen was a member of the Mifflin Presbyterian Church, Eastern Stars, Gahanna Historical Society, and served 19 years in the Gahanna School system as the school nurse. Donations in memory of Helen may be made to Heartland Hospice, 6500 Busch Blvd, Suite 210, Columbus, OH 43229. Visitation will be held Saturday, October 28, 2006, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Mifflin Presbyterian Church of Gahanna, 123 Granville Street, Gahanna, OH., with the service at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Mifflin Twp.
