Helen V. Yates, 84, of Columbus, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2008. Born to Roy and Nora (Thomas) Stimel on August 11, 1924, Helen was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters and 6 brothers. Survivors include her daughter, Alice M. (William) Eastwood; sons, Philip (Susan) and William (Debi) Yates; grandsons, Brian and William Jr. Yates; sisters, Wilma J. Curatti and Ellen (Don) Dault; brothers, Harold (Estelle) and George R. (Ruthann) Stimel; step-grandchildren, Luke and Eric Eastwood, Alicia (Brian) Kivimaki and Deanna (Derek) Spann; sisters-in-law, Ruth, Helen, Rosemary and Paula Stimel; many loving nieces, nephews and 3 great grandchildren. Helen retired in 1989 from the Liebert Corporation after 10 years of service. Helen was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and will be dearly missed by all. The family has requested that any donations be made in Helen's memory to Country View Nursing Home, Activities Dept, 14961 N Old 3-C Highway, Sunbury, OH 43074 or charity of your choice. The family will have a private Memorial Service at a later date. Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH is honored to serve Helen's family.
