Henry James Escalona, 69, passed away March 30, 2024. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Thelma and Dean South; and Mercedes Gomez Escalona; great-aunt, Georgianna Bonta; infant sister; and many other beloved aunts and uncles.
Jim is survived by father, Henry (Miriam) Escalona; mother, Carolyn South; daughter, Shannon (Gabe) Escalona; grandson, Brayden Benson; siblings, Bruce (Dorothy), Daniel (Tracey), Anna (Angel), Eliana (Carlos), and Susy (Victor); nieces, Sandra, Jennifer (Cory), Jordan (Eric), and Ashley (Matthew); great-nieces, Brookie, Callie, Harper, and Logan; great-nephews, Hayden and Collin; as well as many other extended family and friends near and far.
Jim served his community as a Barber for his entire life. He stayed involved with the alumni from Whetstone High School in Columbus serving on the reunion committee. Jim enjoyed music and playing guitar for various organizations, especially around Christmas time. He loved spending time with his family and watching his grandson wrestle.
Memorial Gathering Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 3pm until the time of Memorial Service at 6pm at Newcomer, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's memory to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10306.
