Henry Layne

Henry Layne, Jr., 83, Columbus, passed away Friday, April 5, 2013. Henry was born in Earlington, Ky on February 22, 1930, to Henry and Hazel (Browder) Layne and is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Irene (Jones) Layne; sons, Lonnie, Larry and Lucas Layne; daughter, Katie Layne; sisters, Jessie Johnson and Margie Layne; aunt, Olivia Layne.

Survivors include his wife, Hilda (Humphrey) Layne; daughters, Vivian Robinson, Mary Threat, Merlene Layne, Neondra Humphrey; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Susie Humphrey; host of nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, cousins and many friends.

Henry served in the US Army, worked for the Ohio Malleable Steel Company for 12 years and Columbus City School System for 14 years.

Visitation will be held on Friday, 3:00 – 4:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the Funeral Service at 4:00 PM.
