Herbert M. Thomas Sr., 80, of Columbus, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2010 at St. Ann's Hospital. He was born April 14, 1929, in Huntington, WV, son of the late Earl Adkins and Nora Thomas. In addition to his parents, Herb was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Thomas; son-in-law, Donald Fishburn and 13 siblings. He served in the Marine Corp. during WWII was a member of Amvets Post #89 and retired from Swifty Oil Co. after 28 years of service. Herb is survived by his son, Herbert Thomas Jr.; daughters, Sharon (David) Blake, Patricia Fishburn, and Robin Muncie; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday, March 15, 2010 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd Columbus, with the funeral service beginning at 7:00 PM.
