Hollie Dobbins, 83, of Columbus, went to be with the Lord on January 17, 2011. He was born October 23, 1927, in Roaring River, N.C., son of the late Clarence and Estelle Foust Dobbins. In addition to his parents, Hollie was preceded in death by his daughter, Vickie Dobbins and brothers, Alfred, Bill and Charlie Dobbins. He worked for Timkens Roller Bearing Co., the Beacon Building and Nationwide. Hollie is survived by his wife, Iris Cooper Dobbins; son, Kevin H. Dobbins; daughter, Robbin (Daniel) Puccio; sister, Ida Martin; brother, Clinton (Barbara) Dobbins; brother-in-law, Bernard Cooper; sister-in-law, Fay Bayes and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday, January 21, 2011 from 11:00-12:00 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, with the funeral service beginning at 12:00 PM. Interment will be in Blendon Central Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Hollie's memory to the charity of your choice. Hollie was extremely active in neighborhood activities. He had a heart of gold and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
