Homer Porter, known as JR, age 76 of Columbus, passed away on March 19, 2023. He was born on April 4, 1946 to the late James and Freda (Workman) Porter in Marmet, WV. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law Elva and Emma Evans. JR is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Brenda (Evans) Porter, children Tiffoney (Matt) Carey, Theresa (Dave) Hensell, H. Derek Porter, Scott Scheurell and Joey Porter, grandchildren Joshua Porter, Justin Porter, Samantha (Fan) He, Amber Carey, Brookie (Mike Ray) Porter, Kaile Scheurell, Alex Carey and Nathan Huey, great grandchildren Julian Chase Porter, Skyla Porter and Miley Ray, sister-in-law Ann (Lester) Spencer, brother-in-law John (Bonnie) Evans, sister-in-law Sharron Berry, sister-in-law Tina (Bob) Huey and sister-in-law Linda Porter.

Funeral service on Thursday at the funeral home at 2:00pm.
Burial to follow at Obetz Cemetery, Obetz, OH.
