Howard W. Skidmore, 65, of Orient, passed away after a seven year battle with cancer Saturday, June 21, 2008 at Mt. Carmel West Hospital. He was born March 3, 1943, in Columbus, son of the late Howard and Jennie Skidmore. In addition to his parents, Howard is preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Skidmore and sister, Donna Johnston. He was the former Mayor of Orient and was employed at Nexergy with over 10 years of service. Howard is survived by his wife, Beverly Landis Skidmore; son, Bradley Skidmore; daughter, Kyla (Mike) Schrake; sisters, Joyce (Stan) Myers and Alma (Gordon) Barnett; granddaughter, Ahlex Brown and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 25, 2008 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home S.W. Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City. Funeral service will be Thursday, June 26, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home, with Pastor Steve Combs, officiating.
