Howard Stanley Vawters, Sr., 87, Columbus, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at Kobacker House. Born to the late Andrew and Elizabeth (Howard) Vawters in Columbus, Howard is preceded in death by his brother, Harold Vawters; sons-in-law, Jack Barkow and Mike Jordan. Survivors include his wife, Rosaline (Yates) of 65 years; son, Howard Jr.; daughters, Chelsea Vawters, Cheryl (Mark) Seelbach, Crystal (Jeff) White, and Carol Jordan; grandchildren, Brett, Sean and Christopher Barkow; Erin (Tim) Wallace, Rachael (John) DeLaTorre, Danny (Stacey) Miller; great-grandchildren, Skye, John and Rosalyn DeLaTorre, and William Wallace; brother, William (Donna) Vawters; sisters, Irma Maddox, Wilma (Bob) Yount, Sue (Claire) Ashton; sister-in-law, Venie Vawters; many in-laws, step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Howard served in the US Navy during WWII and retired from Columbus State University. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2007, 6-8PM and Friday, March 9, 2007, 2-4PM & 6-8PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 3393 Broadway, and Grove City, OH.
