It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hung Quang Dam of Powell Ohio, on January 1, 2025, at the age of 69. He was born on July 18, 1955, in Quang Ngai, Vietnam. A devoted husband, loving father, and cherished friend, Hung leaves behind his beloved wife, My Phan Dam, and their two daughters, Rachel Ashley Dam and Megan Kathleen Dam. He is also survived by his older brother, Khac Quang Dam, and his wife, Kim Huong Dam; his older sister, Kim Loan Dam; his younger sister-in-law Huong Nguyen Dam; his younger brothers, Tu Quang Dam and his wife, Hoa Le Dam, Huy Quang Dam and his wife, Hong Hai Thi Bui, Chuong Quang Dam and his wife, Loann Dam; and his youngest sister, Chau Thi Lewis and her husband, Robert Gerald Lewis.
Hung was preceded in death by his parents, Nac Quang Dam and Toan Thi Bui, and his brother, Tuan Quang Dam.
A proud graduate of Penn State University, Hung earned his degree in computer science and went on to have a successful and fulfilling career in the field of Information Technology. He started with Kimberly Clark Corporation, continued with the Coca-Cola Company and Pacer Global Logistics Inc., and retired with the United States Department of the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA). His professional journey was marked not only by his technical expertise but the care he had for the people with whom he worked.
Hung had a passion for life that was evident in all he did. He loved to travel and explore the world, always seeking new adventures and cultural experiences. His enthusiasm for tennis was unmatched both as a player and a coach. He dedicated many of his later years to teaching kids the joys of the sport, sharing his love for the game with countless young players. Whether on the court or watching from the sidelines, tennis was a constant source of joy for him. In addition to his love for tennis, Hung was an aficionado of fine red wine, savoring each glass with great appreciation. His presence will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions 10051 Brewster Ln Powell OH 43065 on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 9:00 am - 11:30 am with a Family Remembrance at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to help fund a bench at the park where Hung coached in his memory. Hung’s spirit, passion, generosity, and dry sense of humor will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
