Ida Irwin, 89, of Columbus, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2012 peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family. Born September 3, 1923 in Dale, Indiana.
Ida was a master cook who enjoyed sharing her gift of food and cooking with others. She was a long time cook at the Pantry in the Columbus Square Bowing Palace and an Golden Age Eagle with the Ladies Auxilliary FOE 2252.
Preceded in death by her father, Christopher Stone and mother, Mary Stone August; husband, Paul "P.I." Irwin; granddaughter, Stacy Layne.
Survived by her daughter, Debra (Steve Marshall) Brown; granddaughters, Tamara Humphrey, Cassandra Brown; great granddaughters, twins, Nicole and Leah Gene Humphrey; sisters, Nora Montgomery, Janice Gorsuch; a devoted friend, John Rascoe.
Friends may call from 4-8 PM Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, where funeral services will be held 10 AM Thursday.
