Iona "Babe" Anthony Sayre, 77, of Columbus, passed away Friday, May 12, 2006, following an extended illness. Born January 30, 1929, in Logan Ohio to Frederick and Maggie (Schubert) Anthony. Iona is survived by her husband Dewey "Sonny"; daughters, Cheryl Estheimer and Amy (George) Dietz; grandchildren, Aaron Estheimer, Muriel and Gretchen Dietz; great-grandchildren, Jessica Elliott, Cody and Chazlyn Estheimer; and numerous nieces and nephews. Iona was preceded in death by her daughter Evelyn Sayre; grandsons Jason Estheimer and C.J.; sisters, Bea and Jean; brothers, Frank and James. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio, with interment at Sunset Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, May 16, 2006. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Central Ohio Diabetes Association, 1100 Dennison Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43201.
