Ismael Gonzalez Jr.

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Izzy Gonzalez Jr. He entered into Heaven on September 28, 2012. Izzy meant more to us than words can express. He did not pass alone, his wife, the love of his life was by his side holding his hand.

Izzy was currently the Clerk of Scales at Beulah Park but in his heart he was always a jockey. Izzy rode racehorses for twenty years winning over 1000 races. He had the honor of being leading rider at several tracks over the years.

He was a man of compassion and a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son, brother,nephew and friend. He is survived by his wife Jennifer, children Trey (his mini me), Portia (Jeremy), Tracey (Alex), Michael (Kelsey),his grandson Riley who was the light of his life,beloved mother Felicita Colon Gonzalez, father, who he loved dearly Ismael Gonzalez Sr. (Carmen), siblings Maria Quinones (Freddy), Dan Cabassa (Patricia), Abad Cabassa, Jonathan Gonzalez, and his best friend and brother in love Harry Vega. He has numerous neices and nephews whom he loved dearly. He is also survived by our "Beulah Park family" and Doc,our three legged dog, whom he also loved dearly.

Services will be conducted at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123. Visitaton will be held Wednesday, October 3, 2012 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm and from 5:00 to 7:00 pm with the service starting at 7:00 pm with Father Kevin F. Lutz and Reverend Vincent Harris.

In lieu of flowers monetary donations to help the family would be appreciated. A donation box will be provided at the funeral home during the service.

I would truly like to thank everyone that has stepped up to comfort me and our children your love means so much and with your support and love I know we will get through this, I love you all.
