J. Vernal Jenkins

J. Vernal Jenkins, 103 years young, longtime Grove City resident, passed away peacefully with family on Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010. Vernal was a longtime member of Grove City United Methodist Church, 32nd Degree Mason, Lodge #689, owner of Jenkins Electric (1950-1960), retired as Building Inspector of Grove City (1960-1975), an avid fisherman and enjoyed RV'ing. Vernal was preceded in death by his father, David C. Jenkins, and Aunt Molly and Grandpa Billy who raised him, his wife of 71 years when she passed, Eva Mae (Mouser) Jenkins. He is survived by three daughters: Janet (The late Charlie) Myers, Neva (James) Kopp, and Jobi (Michael) Holden, two sons: David (Judy) and Verlin (Mary Jane) Jenkins, twelve grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.
Visitation will be Monday, March 1st, 2010, 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Masonic and Memorial Service will be immediately following at 11:00 AM, all at Newcomer Funeral Home SW, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Odyssey HealthCare/Hospice, 540 Office center Place, Suite 100, Gahanna, OH 43230-5317.
