HOWELL
Jack H. Howell, 88, of Westerville, passed away November 8, 2008, at St Ann's Hospital. Graduate of Capitol University Law School and Franklin University. Member of the American Bar Association, Ohio Bar Association and the Columbus Bar Association. Life Member of SCORE, where he worked for over 5 years with the Small Business Administration. Worked for 15 years in Lawyers Title Insurance Corporation's legal department and several years in Ohio Title's legal department. For a period of time owned Heritage Title Insurance Company. World War II veteran of two military campaigns in Europe. Received several medals including two Bronze Stars and Combat Infantryman's Badge. Was with the 42nd Rainbow Division when it freed the prisoners in Dachau. During the mid-30's sang and played guitar with the "Arkansas Travelers" on radio stations in Columbus, Ohio and Parkersburg, West Virginia. Survived by spouse, Katherena H. Howell; step-daughter, Patricia L. (Kenneth) Wilson; granddaughter, Laura (Phil) Darling; grandson, Michael (Shari) Wilson; several great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held 7:00PM Thursday, November 13, 2008, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the family receiving friends at 6:30PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 870 Michigan Avenue, Columbus, OH 43215.
