Jack T. Hoopes, 73, passed away on Thanksgiving day, Thursday, November 25, 2021 in Dublin, Ohio.
Jack was born on January 27, 1948 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Joe and Margie Hoopes.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Cynthia Hoopes; sons, Justin (Heather) Hoopes and Mark (Jamie) Hoopes; step-son, Chris (Chris) Wilcox; and grandchildren, Shelby Hoopes, Logan Hoopes, Everett Wilcox, Cole Wilcox, Bee Wilcox, and Heath Wilcox.
Jack was a graduate of Brookhaven High School, where he played football, baseball and basketball. He was a star pitcher at The Ohio State University.
He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was stationed aboard the USS Harry Yarnell in Rota, Spain.
Jack spent his entire career in commercial and residential real-estate, where he was an executive at multiple local and national companies. He was the first developer to convert the old buildings in downtown Columbus to condominiums.
He was a volunteer with Junior Achievement, helping shape youth in the Columbus area.
Family will receive friends on Friday, December 3, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 6:00pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Columbus Northeast Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio 43231 with the funeral service immediately following at 6:00 pm also at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Columbus Northeast Chapel.
