Jack Philip Schreck, age 77, passed away on May 6, 2024, in Grove City, Ohio. He was born on May 19, 1946, in Amlin, Ohio.
Jack was a cowboy at heart, known for his love of all things horses, including the Quarter Horse Congress every year and horse races at Beulah Park. His mid-day rests were always accompanied by John Wayne movies or if it were Saturday the Ohio State Football games, and he enjoyed listening to Hank Williams Jr on the radio. Jack was a wild spirit, always up for mischief. He was a 'no-kidding' any time you'd tell him something, and if you sat down long enough, he'd leave you with something himself.
He was a loving father and an exceptional grandfather to his five granddaughters. Jack's hobbies included hunting, horseback riding, farming, horse racing, camping, flea marketing, jewelry making, and much more.
Jack is survived by his wife Laura McGlone-Schreck, daughters Tish (Shawn) Hunter and Toni (James) Alexander, son John Schreck, granddaughters Lexie (Seth) Wiesenbach, Jamie (Dylan) Antrobus, Eryn (Ben) Hunter, Brandie (Aiden) John, and Riley (Hunter) Hunter, as well as great-granddaughter Indie Wiesenbach. He is also survived by brothers Scot (Teresa) Schreck and Hank (Susie) Schreck, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Virginia Schreck, brother Mark Schreck, and great-granddaughter Claira Elaine Antrobus.
A memorial service to celebrate Jack's life will be held on June 8th at LeaveAMark Church (4818 Parsons Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43207). Friends and family are invited to gather at 10:30am, with the service commencing at 11:30am. Jack will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
