Jack Ward, 75, of Grove City, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2009, surrounded by his loving family. Born to Jack and Mary (Speakman) Ward in Martin County, KY., on August 24, 1934, Jack was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Stephen Harness; sisters and brothers in law; Rosetta and Don Haynes and Jenny and Bob Rosenquist; brother, Howard Ward. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Martha (Myers) Ward; daughters, Carol (Dr. Ed) Harris, Rebecca (Cliff) Harness, Sheryl (Larry) Billingsley, Linda (Greg) Minck, Lisa (Bill) Jacobs; Larry Ward and John (Debrah) Ward; 11 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and many friends. Jack was a veteran of the US Army and retired from the Columbus Fire Department in 1994 after 32 years of service. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2009, 5-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH with the funeral service on Friday, September 4, 2009, 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Concord Cemetery.
