Jacob A. Tate, 21, Hubert, NC and formerly of Columbus, was killed in action in Afghanistan on January 2, 2011. Jacob is survived by his wife, Amy (Grant) Tate; son, Jax Allen Tate; parents, James and Janice (Wiant) Tate of Columbus; sister, Jamie (Justin) Perkins; brothers, Jonathan (Margie) Tate and Joshua (Laura) Hermiz; nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents and many friends. Jacob was a 2007 graduate of Gahanna Christian Academy and had served in the US Marine Corps for the last 3 1/2 years including a tour of Iraq. Jacob enjoyed many types of sports and hunting.
