James A. Connell
August 8, 1917 — June 7, 2016
James A. Connell, age 98, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Mill Run Gardens Care Center in Hilliard, OH.
He was the father of James E. Connell of San Antonio, TX and Janet Poulsom of Columbus, OH; the grandfather of Kimberly Chirico of Castle Shannon, PA and Michael and B.J. Connell, both of TX; brother of Lois Ryland of Sebring, OH; and leaves behind many nieces and nephews. He had survived his wife of 68 years, Dorothy, by almost ten years, but now joins her in Heaven.
James was born in Banksville, PA and lived in Dormont, PA for 55 years until it became necessary to move to Columbus to live with Janet in 2013. He was a WWII veteran in the United States Army and was an avid woodworker. He retired in 1980 from Penn Coil, where he worked from the age of 17.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, June 12, 2016 from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm at Beinhauer's Funeral Home, 2630 W. Liberty Ave. Dormont, PA 15216. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 13, 2016 at 11am at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3104 W. Liberty Ave. Dormont, PA 15216. Everyone please meet at the church for the service. James will be laid to rest at Jefferson Memorial Park. Family suggests memorial contributions to the American Heart Association.
