James Tyree Boggs, 82, of Portsmouth, passed away February 12, 2007. He was born May 30, 1924 in Greenup, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his first spouse, Ella Louise Boggs, second wife, Anna Marie; parents, Leaborn and Dovie Boggs; brothers, Virgil and Sherman Boggs and sister, Bertha Mae Boggs. James was a member of the Ohio Operating Engineers Local #18 and was retired from Geuple Construction Company. James is survived by his children, Roy (Shirley), Lowell (Janice), Ricky (Karen), Jimmy (Lisa) Boggs, Sue (Jim) Crockett, Linda (Lew) Antis, Freda Michelle (Tony) Watts, Karen (Jeffery) Stout, Patty (Chuck) Raymond; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 3 great, great-grandchildren; brothers, Clayton, Carl and Paul Boggs; sisters, Kathleen Evans, Ada Moore, Gathel Pertuset, Imogene Taylor and very special friend and companion, Martha Ratliff of Portsmouth. Visitation will be held 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00PM Wednesday, February 14, 2007 and 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00PM Thursday, February 15, 2007 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. Funeral services will be held 1:00PM Friday, February 16, 2007 at the funeral home. Patrick Raymond will be speaking with interment at Green Lawn Cemetery.
