James W. "Buddy" Brewer, 86, of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Minerva Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born October 5, 1924, in Lumberton, N.C., son of the late William and Caroline Oxendine Brewer. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his sisters, Wilma Foley, Gladys Fought and Retha Pinoni. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Stella Woodell Brewer; sons, Roger (Lana) and Bob Brewer; grandsons, Gary, Ronnie (Jenni), Michael (Laura) and Matthew Brewer; great grandchildren, Kayla, Chelsea, Brandon, Elizabeth and Caleb; great great grandchildren, Hailey and Jordyn. Visitation will be Sunday, January 2, 2011 from 3:00-6:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus. Funeral service will be Monday, January 3, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Glen Rest Memorial Estate.
