Rev. James C. "Sandy" Sandefur, Sr. age 85 went home to be with the Lord on February 22, 2006. He retired from COTA with 35 years of service. James was a member of the God's Holiness Community Church in Obetz. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy. He is survived by daughters, Shirley McGowan and Jennifer (Ronald Ford) Sandefur both of Columbus; Son, James C. (Mandy) Sandefur, Jr. of Lancaster; Six Grandchildren, Mindy, Melissa, Allen II, Christopher, all of Columbus, Timothy (Diana) McGowan of Johnstown, and Trevor of Lancaster; One Great-Grandchild, Shayla McGowan of Johnstown; Four Brothers, and several Nieces and Nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 24, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. and Saturday, February 25, 2006 from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. at the Newcomer Funeral Home N.E. Chapel 3047 E. Granville-Dublin Rd., Columbus. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 A.M. in the Chapel at Union Cemetery. Messages of condolence may be left at www.newcomerfamily.com.
