James Russell (Jim) Cohagan, age 73. Sunrise began on Oct. 18, 1947 in Columbus, OH; Sunset ended on February 11, 2021 in Grove City, OH.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Emagene and Russell Cohagan and grandchildren, Taylor Yates, Jacob Mason, Keaton Mills.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 23 years Charlene Cohagan; siblings, Lemina Cohagan and William "Bill" (Terri) Cohagan; children, Wendy (Jason) Tucker, Paula (Larry Lybrook) Mason, Paul Gainer; grandchildren, Stephanie (Adam Wood) Stulka, Shane Tucker, Seth Tucker, Shayla (Timothy Martin) Tucker, McKenzie (Kam Hinkle) Mason, Abbigial Gainer; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Stulka, Braedyn Wood, Scarlett and Sylias Slayton-Tucker, Avonlea Sparks, Althea Tucker, Kyson and Keagan Martin, Zayden, Maddix and Arlo Tucker, Chaz Mills, Kambri Hinkle; nieces and nephews, Amy Cohagan, Toby Cohagan, Jay and Stacia Cohagan.
He received many awards and honors in his lifetime, here are a few: boy scout (star)/assistant scout master, award for outstanding service to dogs (dog world magazine), A.K.C. obedience title certificate, American temperament test society (temperament test for dogs), certificate of appreciation (attorney general of Ohio) for outstanding work.
He was a Vietnam Veteran (United States Army) Ammo Apprentice/Explosive Operator (Honorable Discharge).
Jim was a member of Independent Cruiser Car Club. He was a very hard worker in his lifetime, he retired from the Supreme Court of Ohio (Head of Maintenance). Other jobs he held through the years were John W Galbreath Co. (General Building Maintenance), AAA Chair Rental and Sales (Truck Driver), Ohio Exterminating Company (Exterminating Tech), Riverside Hospital (Dispatcher and Patient Escort).
He will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends.
Visitation Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021 from 2pm until the time of Funeral Service at 4pm at Newcomer, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Masks are required for attendance.
