James Richard Corns II, age 74, of Circleville, passed away on January 20, 2022. He was born on April 5, 1947, in Akron, to the late James R. Corns and Dola Lowers.
James graduated from Philo High School in 1965 and went on to join the United State Air Force during the Vietnam War. He served as a Medical Technologist and was a Staff Sergeant. He was Honorably Discharged in December of 1968. He married Sara Lightle on January 15, 1971 and spent 51 years together. He enjoyed the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Cavaliers and the Cleveland Indians. He was all around an avid sports junkie. He loved statistics and science fiction, history, movies and John Wayne. He was a Deacon of Memorial Baptist Church for several years and assisted in the polls for voting. He will deeply missed by all who loved him.
He is survived by his children, Carrie (Corns) Dave Paul, John Richard (Naomi) Corns, Aaron Daniel Corns; grandchildren, Brandon Schneider and Jacob Grooms; brother, Henry Corns, of Tampa FL; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Corns; his parents; and his sister, Bonnie Dunnington-Corns.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 30, 2022, from 2-4 p.m., at Newcomer SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, 43123, where a funeral service will begin at 4 p.m. Due to family illness, we are asking that masks are worn.
A private family burial will be held.
