James C. Wellman, 75, of Columbus, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2009, surrounded by friends and family. James was born to Gordon and Verna (Bowen) Wellman in Wayne County, WV., on September 28, 1934, and is preceded in death by his parents; wife and best friend, Christel D. Wellman; brother, Gordon Eugene Wellman. Survivors include his sons, Shawn (Sharon) Wellman and Jefferey (Dawn) Wellman; sisters, Rena Terrell and Philistia Adkins; brothers, David (Judy) Wellman and Woodrow Wellman; grandchildren, Aaron, Dylan, Ryan, Megan and Tiffany; special thanks to his niece, Joyce Perry for her love and attention during his sickness. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 1, 2010, 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH with the Funeral Service on Saturday, January 2, 2010, 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery.
