James E. Bruce, 72, of Columbus, passed away Friday, January 23, 2009. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Specialist in the U.S. Army, Julie Hickey. James is survived by his wife of 49 years, Janice Bruce; daughters, Joni (Richard), Cathy, and Beverly; sons, Ricky, James, and Terry; grandchildren, Michael, Janice, Brian, Erin, Corrie, Joshua, Patrick, Vincent, and Luke. He retired from South-Western City Schools after 25 years. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel.
