James Ersel Toppins I, of Columbus, passed away on October 7, 2009. Jim was born to the late Ersel and Mary (Christian) Toppins in Logan County, WV on September, 21, 1948. Preceded in death by son Tony Toppins, Jim is survived by sons, Scott and James Toppins II; grandchildren, Jayme, Robert and Jazmin; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Pat, Mary and Linda; many nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Sunday, October 11, 2009, from 2-4 PM & 6-7 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH. with the Funeral Service to follow at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in James memory to The Mount Carmel Hospice, c/o Mount Carmel Foundation, 793 West State Street, Columbus, OH 43222-9988
