James Douglas Gilkerson

September 23, 1942 — June 2, 2022

James "Doug" Gilkerson, 79, passed away June 2, 2022. He was preceded in death by parents, Kenneth and Edna Gilkerson; sisters, Charlotte Bing and Joann Mounts; brothers, Tommy and Dallas Gilkerson. Doug is survived by wife Donna Gilkerson; sons, Val (Carol) Bogdanowitz, Danny D. Fisher, and Larry T. Fisher; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; siblings, Wilda (the late Cliff) Birt, Roger Gilkerson, Nancy Marquez, Carol (Fred) Francis, and Darol (Loretta) Gilkerson; numerous nieces and nephews, other extended family and friends; and of course his furry companion, Einstein.

Doug worked for United Seal Company and was a parts driver for Kreiger Ford. He volunteered his time at the food pantry for the Church of the Living Word (Unity Church). Doug enjoyed fishing, hunting, listening and playing music, and above all, being with his family.

Visitation Tuesday, June 7, 2022 from 4pm until the time of Funeral Service at 6pm at Newcomer, NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd., Columbus, OH.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kobacker House in Doug's name.
