James H. DeVore, born on October 22, 1936, to Harry and Margaret DeVore of Cambridge, Ohio, passed away on February 18, 2012, at his residence in New Albany. He is survived by his wife Mary, son Christian, brother Brian and sister-in-law Sandi of Cambridge, nieces and nephews. Mr. DeVore received his Bachelor and Master of Fine Arts from Ohio University in 1958 and 1963 respectively. He was Professor of Art for thirty of his thirty-seven-year teaching career at Ohio Northern University, Ada. He was a member of several art organizations, most notably the Central Ohio Watercolor Society and the Ohio Watercolor Society. During his career he exhibited his work in local, state, and national shows and was the recipient of many awards.
