James Lee Botts, 61, of Columbus, OH, passed from this earth Saturday, November 28, 2009. He was born March 15, 1948, at Hale Hospital, Wilmington, OH., the son of Elon W. Botts, Jr. and the late Shirley Jo (Jones) Botts. He was also preceded in death by a grandchild, Roger Wheeler III. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Sue Botts; children: Brett (Roxanne) Smith, Sr., James Edward (Alyssa) Botts, Brandy Jo (Roger) Wheeler, Kenneth Michael Botts, Lee Charles Botts, Terrance Botts; step children, Paula Hall, Rob Richards; twelve grandchildren of Columbus, OH; step-mother, Eva (Wallace) Botts; mother-in-law, Eula Horvath, Nelsonville, OH; special friends, Wallace and Cindy Ramsey. Jim was retired from the Columbus Board of Education. He was an Eagle Scout and one who enjoyed the times their group was at the Ohio State Fair (about three years) as Indians who stayed in a teepee, and performed dances to the beating of a drum. Jim had a pleasure in going to garage sales, flea markets, and meeting people, especially at the fairgrounds at Marietta, Ohio during the Fenton Art Glass Conventions. At his request, there will be no viewing or services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice, Diabetes Foundation, Kidney Foundation or to the charity of the donor's choice, in his behalf. Inurnment will be at Kingwood Memorial Park. Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH is honored to serve the Botts Family.
