James W. Marling, 80, Grove City, Ohio passed away peacefully at Doctors Hospital on Sunday, May 30, 2021. He was born on November 23, 1940 in Martins Ferry, Ohio to William Marling and Helen Marling (Polen).
He grew up in Girard, Ohio with his family and graduated from Girard High School. Jim honorably served in the United States Navy and also devoted 33 years to General Motors. Jim was a wonderful friend to many, a devoted husband, and a loving father. He always saw the positive in life and brought joy and love to all. No matter what was going on, Jim would always be keeping the mood light with his jokes and making people laugh. Jim was preceded in death by his father, William, his mother, Helen, and his wife, Joyce. He is survived by his step-son, Ross (Amy) Kramer; son, Jimmy Marling; son, Jeff Marling; sister, Helen (George) Giron, sister, Cathy Swegan; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM, Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Newcomer, NW Chapel, 10051 Brewster Ln, Powell, OH 43065. A brief service will follow at 3:30 PM.
