James Monroe Holbrook, passed away February 21, 2007. He was born July 27, 1935 to Guy and Georgia Holbrook, in Wise County, Virginia. He moved to Columbus in 1955 and married Ruth Knoepfel on September 14, 1957. They had five sons of whom he was very proud. He was retired from ConAgra. He umpired basketball and softball games around the county and was an avid bowler. He volunteered as a "red coat" for OSU football and was involved with SILL's for many years. He leaves his wife, Ruth; sons (and daughter-in-laws), Michael (Janie), Thomas, David, Columbus, Jeffrey (Penny), Grove City, and Christopher (Karin), Effingham, IL; grandchildren, Allison, Charles, Moira, Emily, Nick, Holly and Andy; and brother, Alfred Eugene Holbrook, Bristol, TN. Friends may call Monday, February 26, 2007, from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 3393 Broadway, Grove City. Private family mass and memorial service will be held at the St. Joseph's Cemetery Chapel. Interment will follow the service. Messages of condolence may be left at www.NewcomerFamily.com
