James Preece
March 6, 1963 — January 13, 2013
James V. Preece, 49, of Columbus, departed this life Sunday, January 13, 2013 due to complications related to tetraplegia caused by an auto accident in 2011.
He was born March 6, 1963 in Columbus, OH and raised on Meathouse Creek, graduated from Sheldon Clark H.S. in 1981 and Mayo Vo-Tech in 1983.
James was preceded in death by his father, Willis "Bill" Preece.
He is survived by his wife, Carrie Preece; son, Kyle Preece; mother, Nina Preece; brothers, Ricky and Daniel Preece; mother-in-law, Cheryle Hall; father-in-law, David Schmitz; nieces and nephews, Chris, Luke and Jamilyn Preece, Ayla and Emmitt Schwier.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 16, 2013 from 4:00-6:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, with the funeral service beginning at 6:00 PM.
James will be laid to rest in Muncy Cemetery on Meathouse.
The family sends heartfelt thanks to all the caregivers that helped him on his journey.
