James R. "Jimmy" Lester, 63, of Columbus, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at his residence. He was born April 24, 1948 in Columbus, son of the late Basil and Catherine Chandler Lester. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his brother, Dallas Lester and niece, Danielle Friend. He served in the Air Force during Vietnam and was a member of Amvets Post 89 and Eagles #2252. Jimmy is survived by his daughters, Nikki (Robert) Reece and Jamie Lester; brothers, Tom (Donna), Gary (Patty), Dave (Doris) and Danny (Kathy) Lester; grandchildren, Tyler, Hunter, McKenzie, Alexis and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 4, 2012 from 11:00-1:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment will be in Northlawn Memory Gardens. The family would like to extend a special thanks to his caregiver and niece Karen Lester and Bob Yorde.
